The desire to give new types of frame buildings an artistic image gave rise to the "Chicago school" in the early 80's, the main ideologue of which was L. G. Sullivan-the founder of modern architecture in the United States. Among the most prominent structures built according to Sullivan's designs are the Wainwright building in St. Louis, the Garanti building in Buffalo, the Department store in Chicago, and others. Also at this time, America enters the world stage as the largest industrial and capitalist country, which also in turn left an imprint on the appearance of buildings.
