Step 4: Build your entry in Townbuilder 2 then take a screenshot

Step 5: Upload Imagery via any “Submit your Entry” button. Also include a share link to Townbuilder in the description of your submission. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL, AND ENTRIES WITHOUT THIS LINK WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

For Best Digital Render & Best Print & Paint:

Step 3: Create a building and export it to STL

Step 4: Texture / Render / Print / Paint your 3D design or save an image directly from Townbuilder

Step 5: Upload Imagery (renders/prints/paints) via any “Submit your Entry” button. Also include a share link to Townbuilder in the description of your submission. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL, AND ENTRIES WITHOUT THIS LINK WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

Please note: if you would like to do renders or digital painting with your design, you may want to run them through repair software as these STL files are intended for 3D printing. If you are a subscriber to Townsmith's subscription system, you can use the built-in repair service.

As with any other 3D design competition on MyMiniFactory, there are rules and guidelines that we kindly ask you to follow.

1. Terrain must be designed using the Townbuilder 2 software.
2. Designs submitted must be created by those uploaded.
3. Multiple entries are allowed, please submit only one design per entry.
4. 1st place in each category will be voted by the community. The voting will begin on April the 15th 2022. You will find the poll under the Townsmith Community polls.
5. The Townsmith Team will pre-select a number of viable entries for the polls.
6. Each entrant may only win one prize.
7. If an entrant wins in two categories, the runner up of one of the categories will receive the second prize instead (category chosen randomly)
8. The winner’s of the five 6 month subscriptions to the Townbuilder Sub System will be chosen randomly among all entrants.

Category-specific rules

Best Design:

The entries for this category can be presented in any way. As a screenshot, a professional render, or as a picture of a printed building.

In this category, only the design of the building itself counts. The presentation might help to catch the eyes of voters.

Best Digital Render:

The entries for this category must be presented in form of a digital render.

In this category, both the building itself but foremost its presentation counts. You are allowed to use external assets for surroundings, but the building should be the centerpiece of the rendering.

Video renders are also permitted as entries and should be linked in the entries description.

Best Print (and Paint):

The entries for this category must be presented in form of a printed (and optionally painted) building.

In this category, both the building itself but foremost its presentation counts. (During the last competition, simple buildings with astonishing paint jobs and added weathering made it far in the polls!)

You are allowed to use other, non-3D printed objects as scenery, but the building should be the centerpiece of the image.

There are a total of 14 Themes available in the Townbuilder as of the start of this competition (Medieval, Castle, Draconic, Aztec, Steampunk, Druidic, Feudal Asia, Desert, Dwarven, Elven....). They are expanded monthly via the Subscription system.
You can purchase them in Townsmith’s shop, but you can also use the creative mode to participate for free!

There are also a handful of scatter packs available in the shop.

You are free to use any themes to create your entries during this competition.

Townbuilder is the most successful STL file for 3D printing terrain crowdfunding campaign that we have ever seen and continues to lead the world of 3D printing terrain for tabletop gaming. Townbuilder 2 was designed to create terrain for immersive tabletop gaming, granting the ability to create multi-level buildings with a playable interior. There are also technically advanced pieces that allow you to integrate usable and removable doors, LED Lanterns and Fireplaces and even integrate a Fog Machine into your buildings.

The best part of Townbuilder is that there are NO 3D modeling skills required, anyone can take part in this competition!

We want to see your local tavern, medieval castles, dystopian steampunk settlements and all 3D designed terrain that your creative mind has to offer.

Both of these include basic medieval models, but if you want to dive deeper in there are also asset packs for the other themes available as well as a small and a large starter pack.
