This kit is composed of two parts: a simplified version of a milling cutter, and a base which represents a cut-out in a piece of material.

The kit is intended to help students, and more particularly mechanical engineering students, understand one of the basic yet crucial principles of machining, which is the difference between climb and conventional milling. It allows you to show your students how the tool cuts through the material in both directions

As a mechanical engineering student myself I had some difficulty understanding this principle in class when explained in two dimensions.

Once I printed this model for the first time I immediately found it easier.

It is great especially if you do not have access to a CNC machine or real cutting tools.

 There is some extra space left on the base. It can be used to add some text for additional explanation.

Ce kit est compose de deux pièces: Une version simplifiée d’une fraise a plaquettes, ainsi qu’une base représentant une pièce usinée.

Ce kit est destiné aux étudiants, en particulier dans le domaine de la mécanique, afin de les aider à comprendre l’un des principes basiques mais cruciaux de l’usinage,

qui est le fraisage en avalant/opposition. Il vous permet d’expliquer à vos étudiants comment l’outil coupe la matière dans chacune des deux directions.

Etant moi-même étudiant en mécanique, j’ai eu des difficultés à comprendre ce principe quand il m’a été expliqué en 2 dimensions.

Une fois le modèle imprime cela m’a immédiatement paru plus simple. Ce modèle est idéal si vous ne disposez pas d’une machine-outil ou de vrais outils coupants.

Il y a de la place sur la base, cet espace peut être utilise pour ajouter du texte pour des explications plus précises.
