This is a remix of the excellent ISO838 face shield from 3Dverkstan, incorporating some additional features/improvements:
- Optimised for small 150x150mm build plates.
- Compatible with XYZprinting's Da Vinci 1.0, Jr and Mini series.
- Tighter fit, so reduced need for using with an additional head strap.
- Laser cutting possible with included DXF (5mm material thickness).
- Low part cost (around £0.30 per part for 1KG PLA Spool).
- Fast printing time
Print Settings
Infill: 90-100%
Resolution: 80% of nozzle diameter
- For Da Vinci 1.0, Jr and Mini series printers, optimal print speed to set in the XYZprint slicer is 'FAST'. For Cura, Slic3r etc, this equates to around 100mm/s. Increasing nozzle temp slightly can help layers to stick properly at these speeds.
- Don't be tempted to lower the infill to speed up printing as it helps ensure maximum strength, flexibility and durability.
Assembly Instructions
1. Gently fold A4 acetate in half, and make a crease in the centre of the longest side.
2. Using ISO838 dual hole punch, stamp out the first set of holes in the A4 acetate. The punch must be centred so it creates one hole either side of the centre-line crease.
3. Align the hole punch off-centre such that one of the punches will pass through a hole already created. The new hole created by the other punch is then correctly spaced. Repeat for the other side.
4. The acetate sheets should now have 4 equally-spaced holes. Hook the sheet onto the holes to complete the shield.
