Description
This is a fragmentary slab bound above and below by a relief band of acanthus figures; in the center there is a bucranium (skull of an ox, carved decoration commonly used in Classical architecture) with a garland hanging from its horn.
This figurative scheme was widespread in the Graeco-Roman world and this slab probably belonged to a public building.
