Hi all! We hope you enjoy printing these sample prints from our Hinterland Hills Kickstarter Campaign. We have grouped some content into general, and then printer type (FDM /SLA). Some of these are lessons learned from mistakes, others are just recipes for success that have worked well for us.
Two designs are provided:
The hexbase file, with OpenLOCK design for use of clips
A single point one level rise rock feature. (It is just a wee little rock)
All hexes are ~105mm point to point, (slightly less really)

We recommend you print hexbase file without supports. The OpenLOCK system has integrated print supports you punch out after printing. See our update for an image of pliers removing them. (there are 8 supports per OpenLOCK port).
Recommended orientation is flat to the print bed. (not on edge)
We can recommend PLA and ABS, as we have used both.
Hexbase print details, .2mm or .3mm layer height, 5% infill, no supports
1 point 1 rise detail file print details: .15mm, 5% infill, with supports (you want a crisp right angle)
First as you all know if you have a resin printer, it can be finicky depending on resin type, temperature, and post print cure conditions.
We recommend a less brittle resin, ABS like or fast. Standard resins can shatter with forces you see pushing parts together or if you drop pieces.
We have had most success with Siraya tech Fast Grey. It prints and cures at solid tolerances.
Clear resins can have warping issues from refraction.
Dust settling into your print bed can cause issues.
Don’t leave resin prints overnight in your ultrasonic cleaner and solution, they will warp!
Keep a exacto knife and sand paper to recover any minor errors you encounter.
If you are experiencing tight fit ups use the extra tolerance file. We adjusted it after feedback to ease fit up, it still will be snug (if your printer is dialed in)
Watch out for sun curing the hollow parts with long flat surfaces. You can get warping.
Consider curing in a hexbase file if you are worried about warping during cure, we haven’t had to do this but was advice shared we thought we could pass on.
We recommend springy clip, it will last longer.
