'Huiselijke Zorgen' is a sculpture depicting Wouters' wife, Nel. The origin of the model is discussed by her, "...One evening, while Rik and I were studying our statuary plans, I remained scanting with arms crossed and head bent slightly, pondering. I saw Rik grab his brush and started painting feverishly on some paper. I was not aware that I was the first hand model for such an intimate and grandiose figure".
