I was looking for small and affordable studio lights for making stomotion movies at home, and decided to design one myself around the "easy to find yet samll" GU10 LED.
My design is inspired by the very small cube LED light that works on battery (LumeCube).
The cube is 70mm wide and comes with accessories :
- Barndoor and Gel support
- Snoot to create a focal light
- Honeycomb grid to narrow the beam width
- Every parts are designed to print without any supports or rafts.
The base support / pivot comes with a 1/4'' thread for standard light stand.
DO NOT PRINT in PLA !!! Even the less powerfull GU10 LED lights produce heat that can damage PLA.
Use a HEAT RESISTANT filament, like ABS or PETG.
USE WITH GU10 LED ONLY ! Do not use old style / bulb GU10 lights, they produce too much heat and will burn the casing.
Additional compoponents needed :
- A ceramic GU10 socket
- 2 M3x12mm flat head bolts + 2 M3 nuts (to secure the GU10 socket to the body)
- A M4x30mm bolt with hex head + a M4 nut (for the pivot / support)
- A on/off switch like this one https://www.conrad.fr/p/interrupteur-a-bascule-tru-components-tc-r13-66a-02-1587515-250-vac-6-a-1-x-offon-a-accrochage-1-pcs-1587515
- A power jack like this one https://www.conrad.fr/p/connectique-pour-appareils-refrigerants-tru-components-1365766-embase-male-verticale-nbr-total-de-poles-2-pe-25-a-n-1572668
- 8 6x2mm rare earth magnet (for the body and accessories holder).
Assembly :
Clip the power jack and switch in place.
