This MrSaturn keychain is just around 2.5cm, the perfect size to have dangling from your key!
I've printed the one pictured using Flex PLA, but regular PLA should work too. For the hairs, I used black fishing line (the stronger the better), which retains its shape well while still being bendy.
See the "Printing details" section below for more information on how to assemble. You will need needle nose pliers for this.
Nozzle diameter:
0.4mm (0.2mm would be good too).
Printing instructions:
If you're going to print this using Flex PLA like I did, be sure to include at least 5 shells (walls) for the main body. Any less, and the bottom half of the nose tends to come out shrunk / deformed.
I also advise using 0.15mm layer height for the best result (too small and the Flex PLA starts messing up; too high and there's less detail).
Painting instructions:
You will need to colour in his eyes and eyebrows (and possibly his bow). I used Uni-posca pens for mine, and then sealed the colour using a bit of varnish in the painted areas after the pen ink dried.
Assembly instructions:
Inserting the wires into the body can be quite complicated. I've provided an image of how it's done to simplify the process. Don't forget to glue in the plug once you're done (the chipped side of the plug should point towards the nose when you insert it).
