This is a replacement for the original spool holder which is supplied with the Prusa i3 Mk2S. The Axel and axel cover is the same as I designed for a general purpose spool holder a while back. That one can also be found here on Thingiverse.
The axel cover is used to get a smooth rotation of the spool, it fits most filament spools. If you have a spool with smaller center hole you can hang it directly on the axel.
The pieces are designed so that they can be printed without support.
I've printed them in PLA.
The Axel cover can actually be printed without any infill, it will still be very strong due to its shape.
The axel can be printed in the orientation it is imported in.
The axel cover should be printed 'Standing up'
The two support arms should be printed with one of the surfaces with holes facing downwards.
