Statue of Pan made of Parian marble and found in Sparta, Peloponnese.
The goat-footed god wears an animal pelt, from which protude only his hairy legs and his left hand, holding the pan-pipe. The expression on the face, with its bestial features, is softened by his broad smile.
Copy made in the 1st c. AD of an original of the 4th c. BC.
