Rather than Corbulon, the general of the emperor Claude, we can recognize this sculpture only by an inscripted letter. The bust 'Unknown Bust' (also on Scan the World) is more realistic than this piece. In regatd to the date of the sculpture in the Reupblican style, these two works, through the reason of their thick expressions, are believed to be copies from the style of the Emperor Claude (41-54 AD).
