Description
An attic work by an unknown artist, created in the second half of the 5th century B.C. It is a votive - a religious offering placed in a temple to gain offering with the gods or beings depicited in the relief. In this case, it depicts the Greek gods Ares and Aphrodite. Here, Ares receives wine or water from a jug served by Aphrodite, whilst a child stands behind her.
