×Base Ten Blocks
Base ten blocks are a tool used by young students first learning addition and subtraction. They utilize blocks of one unit, ten units, one hunderd units and sometimes onethousand units. Having base ten blocks help for kids to visualize adding and sutracting by using physical objects for size comparison. More information on how to use them can be found at https://www.mathatube.com/base-ten-block-understanding. Base ten blocks can also be bought from amazon for $25 dollars which can be found at https://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Giant-Magnetic-Base/dp/B004DIZ7H6/ref=asc_df_B004DIZ7H6/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167141005679&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=485827178110733496&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9017742&hvtargid=pla-313288134706&psc=1. I learned to do addition and subtraction using blocks like these that were made of wood when I was homeschooled. Making them 3D printable makes them accessable for more people at a much more affordable price. Since this tool is a simple cube design it is easy to print even for novice printers. This design is for an educational aid assignment in EE4777 at Michigan Technological University.
