This is my first ever upload to a design contest. The hinge itself is a remix of this model:

This spoolholder was designed to hold a 1kg spool. Its main feature is its hinge so you can either hang it sideways and out of the way or pull it out so you can fit more spools beside each other. The main reason for the design was to enable multi material printing. It also comes handy if you want to get a spool that sits behind the mounted spool, just pull it away and it is free to grab. It is also easy to mount and to remove.
Naturally, you can mirror the files to make it move to the other direction.
I was not able to print and test my design because I do not own a 3D printer, yet. (still waiting for my Prusa i3 mk3 to arrive) So it is up to you, Joel, to print and test it. Please be careful when you use it. I am not sure how the torque will affect your awesome shelf.
The spoolholder arm should print in place just fine, make sure you have a good first layer.
For the main hinge however, I would recommend some more infill because the hinge does take a lot of torque.
