Why?

I designed this to hold acrylic sheet windows in a DIY 3D printer cabinet. It is designed to minimise heat loss by creating a seal all the way around the acrylic sheet, although it can also be used to create smaller brackets.

How?

Use OpenSCAD to customize:

• Customise for a variety of lengths, widths and thicknesses of acrylic
• Ends can be straight or angled for joining along a straight edge or corner
• It can be used for acrylic cut with various corner angles (not just perfect squares/rectangles)
• Customise for your screws, including countersunk screws
• I suggest printing a short length to test against the width of your acrylic and the size of your screws.

Printing

The default length of this part is 200mm, as that is the maximum size I can print on my printer.

Recommended slicer settings:

• Resolution: 0.1mm - 0.2mm
• Infill: 10% - 25%. The default material thickness of the part is 3mm. Depending on your printer's settings it may or may not print infill. Infill will only become important if you increase the 'Material Thickness' setting.
• Supports: You may need supports if you use large negative end taper angles (i.e. < -50).
• Rafts: Doesn't Matter
