This marble sculpture depicts an artichoke, usually found adorning brick walls or fences for security and decoration. In the past artichokes and other fruits such as pineapples were considered fruits for the rich, hence why many people took to decorating their house with representations of them.
This adaptation allows you to use it as a stationary stand for your pens and pencils, that would look good whether it be in the home or office.
