Description
This is a bronze modern sculpture depicting a great mythological beast, Centaur, partially incomplete but ready for battle. A centaur, or occasionally hippocentaur, is a mythological creature with the upper body of a human and the lower body and legs of a horse
A truly European artist, Mitoraj was born in East Germany of Polish parents and initially studied classical painting in Krakow before moving to Paris in 1968.
He began experimenting with sculpture following a visit to South America and then embarked on a series of study trips to Greece.
