Description
It comes from Camarones 14, the oldest archaeological site of the Chinchorro Culture that was excavated by Virgilio Schiappacasse and Hans Niemeyer in 1977. This hook is made of bone and shell and was used for fishing. The Chinchorro were a society of coastal gatherers who inhabited the southern coast of Peru and northern Chile, known worldwide for their complex techniques of mortuary treatment.
