MEET FiBo - The Filament Box!
FiBo - Filament Box:
Designed to carry filament spools with ca. 20cm maximum diamenter and ca. 5,5cm thickness. They fit well for my "Das Filament" spools and also for the smaller original Dremel spools.
Features:
- 6 ball bearings to hold the spools (4 in Base, 2 in Lid to prevent spool movement)
- a groove to insert a 1mm thick rubber thread/cord to seal the box
- PTFE coupler in the front for filament guidance
- a slot on the front face to insert a small filament sample (FiBo Sample Card)
- fits perfectly on the FiBo Pipe Shelf!
- the base can be filled with silicagel to keep the filament dry
- Filament Plug (now in two versions)
- Rubber Cord Spool (to store your loose rubber cord)
- FiBo - Assembly Station (stores parts fot 6 FiBos)
- Available for different spool sizes!
(additional spool sizes can be requested, but diameter is fixed to 20cm!)

(the links contain the materials I use. buy wherever you want)
Required parts for the pipe shelf:
- FiBo - Pipel Shelf Mounts (as many as you need)
- 4x 6mm screws for each mount (and matching dowels, if required)
- 2x 26mm (3/4") aluminum pipe
I'm using different colors for each type of filament:
PLA: white box with anthracite clips
PETG: antracite box with white clips
I print all boxes with the following settings:
- Layer height: 0.2mm
- Shells/Perimeters: 2
- Bottom/Top Layers: 4
- Infill: 10%
Supports are required for:
- the "Ball Bearing Pins" in base and lid
- the recesses in the base
- the pipe shelf, if printed lying (what is suggested for strength)
- Depending on your printer's 'bridging skills' you should also add some supports to the Filament sample slot on the lids front
The Pipe Shelf Mounts should be printed stronger!
I used the following settings:
- Layer: 0,2mm
- Perimeters: 3
- Top/Bottom Layers: 6
- Infill: min. 50%
- Filament: PLA/PETG
Rubber Cord Spool and Assembly Station do not require any supports.
