This is my spoolholder designed for the 3d printing Nerd competition.
It was designed with the following requirements in mind:
- for use on a 1*2" wooden rail
- small footrint on the rail - it fits even in between a spool
- can be printed with almost no support at 0,2mm resolution
- sturdy design for high loads
- designed for minium usage of filament
- foldable end to allow the usage of spools as well as filament samples which have no spool
- can be printed flat in any material (PLA, PETG, ABS...)
The foldable hook allows to print the spoolholder flat on the printbed. After printing, you push the notch to the left and then you can fold the end upwards. Push it back to the right and it will lock in place.
The big rips at the bottom make the spool holder very stable and do use only a minimum of filament.
Recommended print settings:
0,2mm resolution, 3out walls, 4top and bottom layer, 15% infill
