Description
This frieze represents the mythological scene of Nike (Victory) leading a bull to sacrifice. It is instantly reminiscent of the reliefs which decorate the balustrade of the temple of Athena Nike on the acropolis at Athens. The work was made in a Roman workshop between 75 and 70 B.C. Similar examples are in the Vatican Museum and the Uffizi.
