Whereas infant boys usually were depicted naked, the older ones were portrayed in the image of the boy in a cloak holding a pet bird in his hand. This is often augmented by a small dog jumping up to the presented bird. This relief, still dating from the high classical age, is the oldeset rendition of this type.
