A short life that the sculptor Pietro Arrow (1814-1856), a life dedicated to the marble in the early years, a life that was opening to fame and success, but that was cut tragically at the age of thirty-two years later in an accidental fall from a scaffold on which he was working to complete the famous Columbus Monument, located in Piazza Acquaverde in Genoa. And it is the presence of one of his plays, Love and Loyalty, 1840, now in the Galleria of Modern Art in Palazzo Pitti in Florence that you can include in a comprehensive way the language of the artist. A child, personification of Love, shown seated on a log while ideal turns his gaze, veiled with unshed tears, towards the loyalty, represented by a dog lifeless at her feet.The theme Anacreontic , as well as building structural and stylistic figure does not deviate from the dictates of the poetic neoclassic although a thrill warm family runs from inside the icy marble , making tangible human pain dell'alato mythological character who suffers visibly in the presence of figuration , real and tangible , of Fidelity , a little dog that last gasp of life choose to put your head down on the foot of the child , seeking physical contact in this safe harbor uncertain wandering life at all we impose .
