Hi everyone,
Very simple elegant Modern Table Lamp.
Printed using PLA with 0.4 mm layer height @ 80mm/sec. Height ~ 20 cm and Diameter ~ 10 cm. Used only 2 wall perimeters since i had the idea to do Vinyl wrap, otherwise will require atleast 3 perimeters to reduce light leak and make it look opaque.
Took 5hours 32 minutes to print. Weighs ~ 70 gms.
Requires thick brim (~8-10mm) for better adhesion to plate. No need for supports.
Wrapped the 3D printed product with Wood finish Vinyl wrap (not a good job by me, But first TRY).
For lighting purpose:
- 12V LED light strip
- DC Jack
- 12V DC wall adapter for Power Supply.
There will be a small recessed area in the front wall on the inside. Stick the LED strip in the provided area (i had to use glue gun, as strip adhesive wasn't enough). Solder connect the LED strip to DC jack (positioned outside the lamp on back) with wires. Brought the wires outside through small hole drilled in the back wall.
After looking at the finished product, I have some suggestions for better finish. One is to use matte finish vinyl sheet (gloss finish makes the imperfections in vinyl wrapping stand out more). Second is to use better quality LED strip (used cheap ones actually), Warm white LED color will look good with wood finish.
