I need help testing this design. The goal of this design is to create a mask that performs as well as possible while still being a 3d printed mask.
The inside of the mask is meant to be printed form TPU, and is meant to seal the face off, conform to the face, and have as few holes as possible, which can be a problem with a 3d printed part. To combat this, the part is meant to be printed in vase mode after the first 1mm of the print where the filter interface is located. There is a seam on the bottom of the mask near the chin where the "vase: edges will meet, and seal the mask. Other than that, there should be no other holes in the mask because it will be printed in one big spiral. This is a way to hack the vase mode common in most 3d print slicers so that "vase" has two walls, which should also help seal the mask.
The mask "cap" is meant to be printed in PLA or PETG. It has the mounts for sting or elastic to make loops to mount the the head. Once worn, any fabric between the base and cap mask will be compressed between the two parts and held against the face.
It is hoped that increased filtration will occur because the air will have to travel the longest distance along any fabric filter used, where as most other filters allow the air flow the shortest distance straight through fabric. The flat front of the mask will crease the fabric to provide additional seal.
These models will be test printed tonight, but I hope anyone here can try as well and add to the testing and or critique/improve the design.
I suggest increase the extrusion width past the nozzle diameter for these parts.
Use version 3 for more filter surface area and eased breathing.
Increase the exutrsion width to 0.46 increase extrusion multiplier to 1.1, and print 0.16 to 0.2 layer heights
