Mascherina stampabile in 3D. Ridotta apertura per limitare l'area di ingresso di possibili agenti esterni. Filtro smontabile e intercambiabile (a discrezione dell'utente). Mascherina composta da soli 2 componenti per limitare problemi di tenuta. Tenuta col viso garantita da fascia adesiva al neoprene. Testata su visi di diverse forme e dimensioni.

Il prodotto è mirato all'utilizzo per il pubblico il modo cautelativo in modo da limitare il consumo di mascherine professionali da riservare al personale ospedaliero.

Il prodotto è disinfettabile con alcohol on tramite riscaldamento a circa 60°C senza subire danni.

EDIT: Aggiunta versione 3.0 - Spessore ridotto a 1.2mm (migliore flessibilità senza compromettere una chiusura ottimale tra i layer di stampa. Testata con ugello 0.4mm - stampa a 3 layers).

EDIT: Aggiunto Filter_Cap_50. Se si utilizzano filtri HEPA o pad di garza/ovatta/cotone, è suggerito utilizzare questo cap. I canali di ingresso aria sono inclinati di 50° in modo da deviare la velocità di entrata sul filtro favorendo il filtraggio per diffusione (fenomeno prevalente in questo tipo di filtri "caserecci"). Non trasformerà il filtro in nulla di professionale ma è un piccolo aiuto a costo 0. Inoltre la superficie proiettata esposta a possibili goccioline è virtualmente 0 (considerando una persona di fronte) e questo contribuisce a rendere la maschera idealmente come una barriera, non potendo contare sull'efficacia totale dei filtri fatti in casa.

NOTE: Molte maschere stampabili in 3D in circolazione, presentano un'elevata area di ingresso/filtro per diminuire lo sbalzo di pressione a cavallo del filtro e aumentarne l'efficacia.
Questo ha senso su maschere con filtro di alto livello FFP3/FFP2 dove appunto il filtro è l'intera maschera. Queste infatti intrappolano virus e particelle tramite diversi meccanismi (tra i quali intercettazione, impatto...) che possono essere influenzati negativamente da un delta pressione.
Nel caso di mascherine fai da te o in questo caso stampate in 3D, molto probabilmente il filtro sarà un pezzo di tessuto, ovatta o nel miglior caso un filtro HEPA. Considerando questa migliore ipotesi, questi filtri non mostrano cali di prestazioni con flussi fino a 100 volte quelli del respiro umano. Inoltre mostrano una certa efficacia contro i virus perchè lo intrappolano tramite meccanismo di diffusione che ha effetto per basse portate (come può essere quella di un'inalazione).
Alla base di queste considerazioni, per le maschere stampate in 3D con filtri fatti a casa (da utilizzare solo in assenza di mascherine professionali piuttosto che dei pezzi di tessuto) ritengo che l'approccio migliore sia quello di ridurre l'area di ingresso (entro certi limiti e considerando comunque il rapporto con l'area di ingresso del naso).
Vedo le mascherine stampate in 3D principalmente come uno scudo, non potendo fare pieno affidamento sulla qualità del filtro, quindi da qui il vantaggio di minimizzare l'aria di ingresso rendendo la restante area morta.

3D printable respirator mask. Reduced intake area to reduce external infiltration risk. Removable and customizable filter. 2 components only to reduce sealing issues between parts. Sealing with face guaranteed by thick neoprene strip. Tested on different faces shapes and sizes.

The product is meant for the public as a precautional measure in order to reduce the waste of professional masks reserved to medical staff.

Product can be sterilized with alcohol solution or by heating up at about 60°C without damages.

EDIT: Added version 3.0 - reduced thickness to 1.2mm for better flexibility with perfect sealing between layers (3 printing layers with 0.4mm nozzle)

EDIT: Added Filter_Cap_50. If you are using a HEPA filter or a piece of cotton, I suggest to use the file it.
The slots for air intake are inclined of 50° in order to deviate the intake velocity of the flow.
In this way air is forced to enter with an intake angle in the filtering media (rather than perpendicularly) crossing more useful filter volume and helping filtration by diffusion.
It won't make it become a super effective filter and it's a free contribution.
Other advantage is that the projected surface exposed to drops (if someone is in front of you) is virtually 0 (remember that ideally you want a DYI mask to be a shield more than a filter). Breathability is not affected since total intake area is similar to the other version.

NOTE: Many DYI masks present a wide intake area in order to reduce the pressure drop and increase the filter efficacy.
This makes sense for high level filters, such as FFP3/FFP2 which need to have a wide intake surface (the whole mask) since they capture the virus particles by different mechanics (such as interception and impaction) which are badly influenced by pressure drops.
These 3D printed masks or dyi masks won't probably have that type of filter, but rather some cottons, fabrics or best case HEPA. Considering this last case (best solution), a standard one has a good filtration level with airflow up to 100 times the one of human breath. Moreover HEPA filters show a certain efficacy against viruses since they filter by diffusion which is a different mechanics, effective especially with low airflow (such as human breath).
This is the reason why for 3D printed masks with homemade filters (to be used as last resort instead of pieces of clothes) I believe it is a better approach to keep the intake area as small as possible (always taking into account the ratio with the nose intake area).
I see a 3D printed mask with homemade filters primarily as a shield and only secondarily as a low efficacy respiratory filter.
