The first generation Nissan Leaf (2011/2012) does not show the battery State of Charge on the dash (later models do). This project replicates that feature by adding a small OLED display inside the top dash.
The 3D print files here make a frame to hold the OLED in place and hide the PCB.
There are three frame designs for different display options:
- a 0.96 inch, 128x64 pixel OLED display in horzontal orientation
- a 0.96 inch, 64x128 pixel OLED display in vertical orientation
- a 1.54 inch, 128x64 pxel OLED display in horizontal orientation
The display is controlled by a small Arduino Pro Mini board which talks to a MCP2515 CAN Bus module which is connected to the Leaf OBD2 port. Full details and software are on my blog: http://www.myonlinediary.com/index.php/Energy/SOCDisplay
I'll be adding a frame for a 1.3 inch OLED display next.
You'll notice it's kinda hard to see the frame in my picture - that's the purpose of the frame.
I printed it in PLA at 0.2mm layer height. No support needed.
