I designed this lab rack holder to function as a replacement on opentrons machines to hold 6 50mL "Falcon" style test tubes for a covid spit testing process. This rack is an all in one design and prints with about 73grams of petg and takes me about 1 hour and 25 minutes per or 5 hours and 40 minutes for a batch of 4. Please feel free to print and use this design at will but selling these prints is not permitted. If a lab is in need of them and you wish to print them for them they can supply the filament or reimburse for material cost ONLY this design is not for profit.
Please view print settings for an important note regarding z height of the top surface of the rack for complete compatibility with the stock racks.
Recomended Print Settings:
Material Used Clear PETG
Speed 40mm/s for all features
Nozzle 0.6mm at 0.7mm line width
Flow: 94%
Bed Temp: 75C
Extruder Temp: 260C (use caution when exceeding 225C as a PTFE lined hotend is not safe above these temps, all metal is required at least) print petg according to manufacturer specifications or hotter at your own risk.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING LAYER HEIGHT:
Layer height first layer 0.25mm all others 0.5mm
The reason for the differing layer height is so that the top surface of the rack can be at precisely 7.25mm where there is a 0.5mm chamfer for locating the tubes in x y and z axis. Printing like this will allow you to make a rack that is entirely backwards compatible without configuration changes with the stock opentrons rack and 6x 50mL top plate.

You can fit 4 of these on a ~235mm x ~235mm print bed by rotating each one 90 degrees to the previous and aranging them so there is a square in the center. Tolerances are set so that tubes that have a label applied to them slide in and out with no tension.
