Description
The hair is divided by a central parting and gathered into three rows of tight curls. The physical features have enabled it to be identified as Agrippina Minor (15-59 AD), daughter of Germanicus and Agrippina Major, wife in 49 AD to Claudius and mother of Nero, whohad her killed at the age of 44. The portrait is very idealized and the presence of the fiafem is evident of the official character of Agrippina Mino: whi was already empress at the time the work was executed. Late Claudian period.
