Description
Crispina, consort of emperor Commodus (AD 180-192), shows her young face framed by a heavy hairstyle gathered by a heavy hairstyle gathered at the back of her neck, created with a wig or the application of locks of hair. The model, from which the displayed portrait derives, was produced before the empress's exile (AD 187).
