Description
This bust of Arcadius was realized in the Theodosian style, with combining elements of classicism with the new hieratic style.
Arcadius was a Byzantine Emperor from 383 to 408. Being a rather weak ruler, his reign was dominated by a series of powerful ministers and by his wife, Aelia Eudoxia.
