Description
Round-butted stone axe from Hallsberg parish, Närke. The round-butted axe is the most common axe type from the Late Mesolithic in Sweden, but they continue to be in use well into the Middle Neolithic. There appeared thus span a considerable timespan, circa 5500-3000 BC. As is often the case with the round-butted axes, the specimen from Hallsberg has a polished edge whereas the rest of the body is finely hammered.
