Description
This figure may have been a model made by Adnrea del Verrocchio to be copied by his pupils. Verrocchio was a major painter, sculptor and goldsmith in late 15th-century Florence. He owned a workshop, and with that a lot of talented artists, including Leonardo da Vinci.
In contrast to the closed eyes, the young man's legs are tense, which indicates that he is actually awake.
