Topology Optimized Spool Holder
Topology Optimized Spool Holder

A custom designed, fully 3D printed spool holder design for the 3D Printing Nerd (Joel Telling).
The entire design was optimied using Fusion 360's Topology optimization tool. The part was then tested using F360's Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to further test and optimize the design.
All parts are 3d printed and designed to be attached to the wood beams used in his origional design. Rod features 3 separate width settings to accomodate various spool widths. Compact rod diameter accomdates most spool hole diameters.
Thank you to CNC Kitchen on youtube for the wonderful tutorial on topology optimization.
2 X "Spool Holder_ Bracket"
1 X "Spool Holder_Rod"
It is recommended to use ATLEAST a .6mm nozzle when printing for added strength.
Recommended settings .6 nozzle:
Walls - 4
Bottom layers - 3
Top layers - 4
Infill - 15% (atleast)
Layer Height - 0.3 mm
Brim-recommended
Support (necessary for the "Spool Holder_rod")
