Description
It was common for cach model of vases manufactured in Sèvres to be produced in a variety of sizes. The vase aux Oreilles was made in six sizes, with a couple being acquired by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1958.
Factory records suggest that the vases would've cost around 1500 libres, a sum equivalent to the annual salary of a lower-level professional worker.
