Description
Nikolai Andreyev (1873-1932) is really focused on reproducing the Russian Icon, and in this sculpture, woman reaper with a child, is depicted an essential symbol for the russian traditional culture. Represented as an impressions he originally modeled from life in white clay and then cast in bronze. With his quick, free manner of moulding, Andreyev made a good likeness of typical character. The pose and gesture are typical.
