BOITATA
The Boitata, protector of forests, is a character in Brazilian folklore. Its legend describes this folk character as a great fire serpent. He protects animals and forests from people who harm him and, above all, who burn in forests.
In the folkloric narrative, this snake can turn into a burning log in order to deceive and burn the invaders and destroyers of the forests. It is believed that the person who looks at Boitatá becomes blind and crazy.
