Offertories or Altars (Seats?) Found exclusively in the Guanacaste Subregion of Costa Rica, these sculptures are waisted cylinders, wider at each end, and always decorated with large, rather stylized heads of crocodiles or alligators. They were considered to have been seats, but recent excavations suggest that they were altars on which offerings were placed.
