This is the second design in my Ikea inspired collection. One of the reasons I love the Ikea aesthetic is their incredibly out-of-the-box/in-the-box thinking. They take a tried and true design, like a cup, and modernize it without losing its original functionality and the most recognizable elements. This is the inspiration behind this simple lamp design. I took the most recognizable shape in the world of lamps and modernized it (without losing its functionality, or most recognizable elements).
I looked through the current entries before starting my design process and realized that there are a lot of similarities to the Electromaker design. Where I think this is great, I wanted to take a chance and try something entirely different (probably to the detriment of me, hahaha).
I was going to 3d print this, and indeed, I will, but at the moment, I can't get the right coloured filaments to do the design justice, so I hope you guys enjoy the renders!
