This design was printed with a game-changing new bronze filament from Virtual Foundry.
The design was printed on a Raise 3D and then placed inside a kiln for around 5 hours, after firing in the kiln came to the polishing process.
Coming out of the kiln the object has a burned and very dark finish. The ring was then handed polished for about 1 hour to get the desired finished. The process involved using a metal file to start, then low grit and high grit sandpaper. Finally, steel wool was used to give it its final, shiny appearance. This process results in a finished design that looks like an actual copper or bronze ring - even though the whole thing was 100% 3D printed!
