Allegedly from the island of Paros (Greece)
Marble from Paros, around 550 BC
The beardless man in a short garment (chiton) sits on a throne with lion's feet, slanted armrest and footstool. Since the context of the find is unknown and an explanatory inscription is lacking, the depicted person can be either a deceased, a god, a hero or a donator. Loan of the Max-Klinger-Haus, Naumburg/Saale.
