Paperstrip Vase

I had a bright idea that maybe we could add colour to prints by providing places to slot in coloured card or paper. And here we are!
Not only is this model intended for decoration in that way, but it's also a vase mode print! That was certainly a fun aspect of the design - how do you build slots and cavities into such a design and still make it printable with a single outline? Well, take a look at the model and you'll see! It was a fun one.
The best part is that the edges of the paper inserts are all hidden, so it doesn't require super-accurate cutting!
Now, you may notice that I used paint swatch cards from the hardware store, but obviously you can use anything that can be slid into place without buckling. The fit isn't too tight, though, so experiment away! Comic strips could be pretty cool...
Oh, and one last thing: when you're trimming the strips to fit into the vase, note that you'll want the top to be pointed, because the internal strip cavity comes to a point, to make the whole thing more printable (since vase mode is most certainly not good with bridging).
Have fun! :)
This is a vase mode print, intended for a 0.4mm nozzle. If you're a Cura user, that's "Spiralize Outer Contour" mode.
