This is a prototype of a smart phone adaptive otoscope. Using a smart phone, a disposable camera lens and a camera app this 3D printed piece can become an otoscope.
An otoscope is a medical device that is used to look into the ears by healthcare providers to look at the ear canal or eardrum.
NOTE: this is not a regulated medical device and only registered medical professionals can make a diagnosis.
The clip and the scope come into two peices. The clip must be printed with support. If the scope is printed to use a len it also must have support. Both must be printed at 100% infill.
For better pictures, print with a darker filament or paint the inside of the scope black.
For the lens I cut out a disposable camera lens and it fits is the slot on the scope. It cost $9 to buy.
The two 3D printed peices cost $0.18 to print.
