Statue of an athlete made of Pentelic marble and found at Eleusis. The youth is shown with his head slightly bowed, ready to place on it the crown probably of metal, which he will have held in his right hand.
Probably a copy or free reworking dating from the second half of the 2nd c. BC of an original by Polykleitos made about 440 BC, conceivably the statue of the athlete Kyniskos.
