A young boy in a standing position is completely wrapped in a mantle, which is drawn up over his head. The garment's folds are arranged softly around his body and reveal, at the back, the contour of wings. His head, turned slightly to the left, is encircled by a small crown with spear shape leaves from an aquatic plant, tied with a knot at the nape.
His right hand rests on his chest, while the left carries a duckling by one wing. The image of a boy entirely covered by a mandle, with a head adorned by a small crown of aquatic plant leaves, and who carries one or several ducklings in his hand, is seen as the depiction of the winter season.
The sculptures displayed at Fiumicino Airport are the result of a collaboration with the Ostia Antica park. This work originates from the Necropoli di Isola Sacra.
