Stegosaurus
Stegosaurus

This is a model Stegosaurus I made for my daughter. She wanted a dinosaur toy to paint and this is what I came up with.
Using SelfCAD the build process was pretty simple. I found a reference image of a Stegosaurus and attached it to the vertical guide plane to help shape the build.
Then using Spheres and Cylinders I built out the body, tail, head and legs.
The neck and tail are just cylinders with the horizontal loop moved and scaled to make a cone like shape. Why not just use a cone? Well I didn't want the sharp point on the end that a cone usually ends with.
The "fins"/"spines" on the back were made using the 2d Drawing tool. I made the rough shape of one, then scaled and rounded them so there were no sharp edges.
After that I used the sculpting tools to add a bit of muscle tone and to pull out the claws on the feet.
The last picture is of the printed version that my daughter then painted. We're really please with the model and I hope this brings some fun into your families lives too.
