this is my entry for joels spool holder competition. i wanted to make a spool holder that could be 100% 3D printed so you didnt have to source outide materials to build it.
This spool holder can hold spools two different ways. The first way is for the spool to be placed on top of the shafts, the tapered end in the back and the locking nut in the front should keep the spool from falling off. the second way is to put the center hole of the spool on the front shaft and use the nut to make sure it doesnt come off.
the spool holder should just be clipped on top of the rack that joel is using and if put in sideways joel shouldnt have to remove the spool that the holder will be under.
this print requires no support and should be printing on its back with the shafts pointed upward. i printed it at 0.25 layer hight with a 0.6 nozzle and it took about 6 hours to print. cura says a 0.2 layer hight and a 0.4 nozzle will take around 9 hours to print.
