A stylish iconic cross pendant with a clever functional shape I designed to dock and store glasses/spectacles when im not driving with a simple effective loop (matching or contrasting as an accent) to attach to a neck chain
The following is how I printed these parts succesfully-
PLA (1.75mm)
.4mm nozzle
.2mm layer height
Part cooling fan used whilst printing the cross pendant (not required necessarily for the oval loop)
50% infill (Cross Pendant)
100% infill (Oval Loop)
50mm/s print speed
With Raft (Cross Pendant) -although not necessarily required
no Raft (Oval Loop)
With Supports (Cross Pendant)
No supports (Oval Loop)
Hot water forming the Oval loop
When hot water forming the oval loop DONT use boiling water.
Use a regular hot tap for just a couple of seconds whilst slightly stretching the loop by seperating the 5mm & 3mm tools (this takes up the slack of the temporarily malleable (soft) pla loop)- Hold this position with gentle pressure for a couple of seconds so the loop cools into its new defined shape as per images step6, step7 & step8.
