Coming from the excavations carried out in 1917 in the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan. This sculpture of skull with knotted bands denote a mooring for death or for sacrifice. The disc of Mictlantecutli, god of death, surrounded by a strip of folded paper. Teotihuacan, the City of the Gods, was a place of worship and pilgrimage venerated by the Aztec monarchs.
This object is part of "Scan The World".
